LBS: "Reach Out and Touch Someone"

Reach Out and Touch Someone

As a kid growing up in the 80's, yes the 80's, with big hair, swatch watches, leg warmers and my see- through purse with a giant can of aqua net, I can remember a slogan AT&T had urging people to "reach out and  touch someone"--metaphorically specking. I never would have imagined back then, that our  house phone, the one that was attached to an always tangled cord and about the size of a man's shoe, would one day allow me to communicate in so many different ways.

In the 70's psychologist began to understand the concept of self-fulfilled prophecy, it was the idea that what you were told, as a child you would eventually believe and ultimately create that reality in your life. In other words, what people expected of and from you would guide your thoughts and subconscious to work toward meeting those epectaions. This sheds some light on the power of our words and the potential we have in affecting the lives of others through blessing.

Today with all this great technology and media outlets there are so many ways to reach out and "touch" someone. But is it really touching them?

Come and find out more about what the Bible has to say about this at our next Ladies Prayer and Bible Study. Every Wednesday in the Hub from 10am-11am.  Don't miss it...Get it!
