LBS: "The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly"

"If I only had a little humility, I'd be perfect" a man once said. Humility has been defined as the trait modesty in behavior, attitude, or spirit; the quality of not being pretentious. Humility and meekness are also not the same. Meekness is power under control. Humility is a learned attribute that comes from actions without the thought of self or rewards, we don't plan humility.

Psalm 51:10 David wrote these words after he had been broken over his sin with Bathsheba, and humility was rewritten on his heart. After this time, he began to serve God with greater love and respect. Whether learned while mired in sin, learned in the pit of despair, learned out of difficult circumstances, or learned tumbling from a prideful perch, humility is a key lesson in the development of Christians. In Christ's life, humility was a cornerstone of His ministry. He constantly served people.

David's life, like ours, is a mixture of the good, the bad and the ugly. We think of his humble beginning, his love for God and being called a man after god's own heart. But, it was something bad and ugly imbedded in David that began his path toward great humilitu. the key to confessing sin and overcoming it, is humiliy. It is the way to freedom.

David's life, like ours, is a mixture of the good, the bad and the ugly.
