Seeing God in the Little Things

In business, in the political scene, in our personal lives, and even in the kingdom of God, focusing on the “big picture’ is what will help us reach our goal and overcome the obstacles. God himself has been looking at the big picture since the beginning of time. (Isaiah 46:9-10) There are times when looking at the big picture can cause us to feel overwhelmed, frustrated, and lead us wondering where God is and if He cares about what is going on in our lives. There are times when we need to shrink our vision in order for our faith to grow. Z(ech 4:10a)

How many times have you focused on a goal or the big picture of what  you are trying to accomplish and felt like a failure? This was Zerubbabel’s situation. The Israelites had been in captivity in Babylon. They returned to Jerusalem and found Solomon’s temple in ruins. The big picture for them was to rebuild the simple just like it is again today. With Governor Zerubbabel leading them, they stated their building program. They didn’t get past the foundation when it all came to a halt. In fact, it stayed that way for many years.
